IT BEGAN WITH AN IDEA
As the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of the patent-pending KOSHERLAMP™ , Our goal is to invent and market creative products for the Shomer Shabbat community. Virtually overnight KOSHERLAMP™ has created a revolution in the Torah observant world.
It all started when Rebbetzen Chana who is an avid reader, asked her husband Reb Shmuel if there was a way to hook up some kind of light for the bedroom so she could read in the bedroom on Shabbos.
After looking through the seforim, it appeared that even though many poskim held that the actual “lamp” should only be moved with a shinui, a lamp could be made with a moveable shade that could totally darken the lamp.
The prototypes were produced. Letters were soon filed by a patent attorney, a website was set up and poskim were consulted.
The initial model of KOSHERLAMP™ was an instant success. It is available directly to the consumer via the internet or toll-free telephone call 1-866-661-5483. Now we are busily working on other designs for the kosher consumer.
AND THEN...
A few weeks later Reb Shmuel and his son Shalom were in the local hardware store scouring the aisles hunting for ideas. They came home with a hodgepodge of Styrofoam, louvers, vents, electrical tape, light bulbs, ballasts, wires… and who knows what. But by the end of the day they had a rudimentary, clunky, but working model!
After trying it out the following Shabbos all the kids in the house, and their friends wanted one. Reb Shmuel knew he had come up with something very big, but where to turn to?
As hashgacha (Providence) would have it, one of Reb Shmuel’s congregants is in the lighting business. After showing the working model to Moshe Lazer, he immediately offered to help his Rabbi, Reb Shmuel develop the product.
TODAY
After the success of the KosherLamp™, Kosher Innovations is still working on producing practical and innovative new products to enhance Jewish living. All it takes is a few thoughts like "What if" and "Wouldn't it be great if...". Who knows what Kosher Innovations will come up with next.
