Shabbos Smart Switch is a digital timer that controls your light switch. It has a built-in motor that "flicks" the light switch up or down according to your schedule. There are Nine Program slots (plus 1 Random Program Timer) that allow you to tell Shabbos Smart Switch the Day(s) and Time(s) you want the light switch turned on and off, any day of the week.

All the convenience of a timer...for your light switch!

You're not limited to turning lights on or off. Some light switches also control devices like ceiling fans while other switches may control the power to electrical outlets. If a crock pot was plugged into one such outlet, it could be turned off automatically to save electricity! (Consult with your local Rav for uses such as this for Shabbos and Yom Tov.)

The best thing about Shabbos Smart Switch is that it is so easy to install and requires no wiring. It mounts directly on top of an existing light switch with just one screw and won't damage the wall.

PROGRAM 0: MAKING YOUR HOME MORE SECURE

Shabbos Smart Switch has a handy feature called "Program 0". We know, it's not such as fancy name but it works differently than the other nine programs. It helps add security to your home, particularly when you are away.

When you activate Program 0, it turns the light switch ON at a random time between 1am and 5am every night. If someone was watching your home, they would see the light turn on at different times every night and it would look like you were home.

WHAT IS IT?

It's a digital timer for your light switch. Think about one of those timers that plug into your electrical outlet, the ones that you plug your lamps and other devices into. This is one of those...but it works on your light switch.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Mount it directly over your toggle light switch with only one screw.

(NO WIRING REQUIRED! NO ELECTRICIAN NEEDED!)

The built-in motor flicks the light switch On or OFF according to the times and days of the week you have set.

WHAT ABOUT INSTALLATION?

It's super quick...get your stop-watch ready!

GO!

1) Unscrew the bottom screw on your light switch cover.

2) Position Shabbos Smart Switch directly on top of the light switch.

3) Using the supplied long screw, screw it into the bottom hole on the light switch cover.

DONE! Check your stop-watch. Thirty seconds? Maybe thirty-five seconds if you took a short break in the middle of the installation. Now just pop in the batteries and you're ready to go.

And that's not all...we've included a mini screw-driver so you can install it right out of the package whether you are at home, at a hotel or staying somewhere else.

No, it mounts directly over the light switch cover and doesn't actually touch the wall.

CAN I MOVE IT TO A DIFFERENT LIGHT SWITCH?

Absolutely. It is very simple to move it. Just unscrew the single screw and it can be removed. This makes it great to take on a trip to a hotel, summer home, yeshiva dorm, or for an overnight Shabbos stay. And it's great if you're renting!

CAN I TURN THE LIGHT SWITCH ON/OFF MANUALLY WITH SHABBOS SMART SWITCH INSTALLED?

Yes, there are ON and OFF buttons that make it easy to turn on/off the light.

HOW MANY ON/OFF SETTINGS ARE AVAILABLE?

There are 9 ON/OFF programs available and 1 Random setting that can be used for extra security when you are away. Each program allows you to select the day & time it will turn ON and the day & time it will turn OFF.

The programs are very versatile and allow you to choose unique ON/OFF times for a specific day as well as for a range of days. For example, you can set:

3 different ON/OFF programs for Shabbos
an ON/OFF program for the same time every day or weekdays only or weekends only
an ON time on a Friday Night, and an OFF time the next day on Shabbos morning

CAN I PUT IT ON A MULTI-SWITCH PANEL?

Yes. You can mount it on a double light switch panel. There will be some space between the Shabbos Smart Switch and the second light switch, but not enough to mount a second Shabbos Smart Switch. You can mount 2 Shabbos Smart Switches on both ends of a 3-switch panel.

DOES IT WORK ON ALL LIGHT SWITCHES?

No. It only works on Toggle light switches at the present time. (See the light switch image above). We are working on making it for Decora light switches. Check back with us to see when they will be ready.

WHAT IF THERE IS A POWER FAILURE?

Shabbos Smart Switch runs off of 2 AA Batteries so it is not affected by a power failure. There is also a low battery indicator that lets you know ahead of time when to change the batteries. This will prevent lack of operation during a Shabbos or Yom Tov.
